Photographer b.1975, Sweden
I grew up by the sea at Bjärehalvön in Skåne, and that landscape has never really left my life or work.
I have been making images since I was fourteen. It runs through everything, the way I listen, the way I move through a place, the way I understand what I am looking at. Thirty years of international practice have deepened that, and built a trust in the long creative relationship, with clients and with subjects alike. I move slowly, look carefully, and bring my full attention to whatever I am working with.
Over the past year my work has expanded into food culture and sustainable food systems, not as a departure from photography but as a natural extension of the same values: rootedness, ecology, the relationship between people and place. I believe in things that last, in knowledge that is passed on, in the kind of beauty that comes from paying close attention to the ordinary and the essential.
I work across both fields now, and find that they feed each other.
